ABOUT LORD KRISHNA

Krishna Jayanthi or Krishna Janmashtami is the birthday of Lord Krishna, who is an incarnation of lord Vishnu. Lord Krishna is an Eighth avatar of lord Vishnu. He is the god of compassion, tenderness, and loved in Hinduism. Lord Krishna’s face looks like blue in colour i.e, the colour of Lord vishnu.Mainly he was born for the reason to kill his uncle King Kamsa. According to Hindu beliefs, only two incarnations of Lord Vishnu got the highest fame in this world i.e. Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.

BIRTH OF LORD KRISHNA

Lord Krishna was born on the midnight of the eighth day of Hindu lunar calendar in the month of Shravana or Tamil month Avani (mid August to mid September) . Lord krishna was born with the 8th child of Devaki and her husband King Vasudev Lord Krishna was born in “Rohini” natchatra and suddenly a voice came from the sky that Kamsa's death would happen Soon . Every time she would give birth to a child,the demon king Kamsa would himself come and kill the baby with his bare hands. Devaki’s brother King kamsa is an autocrat/tyrant.At Devaki's wedding, according to Puranic legends, Kamsa is told by fortune tellers that the child of Devaki would kill him.

HOW KING VASUDEV SAVED LORD KRISHNA’S LIFE

The lord advised his father vasudev take lord Krishnan to Brindhavan and exchange him with a new born baby girl near to his mother devaki. Vasudev took little Krishna and left for Brindhavan. When king vasudev came to across the Yamuna river, it was heavy flooded. As Vasudev still try to cross the river and he carrying little Krishna over his head, the waters almost receded as soon as they touched Krishna’s toe, allowing him to carry the next stage.

Then he reached to Yashoda’s house, exchanged their babies and returned to the prison with the baby girl. Devaki and king Vasudev hoped that Kamsa would not kill the baby girl .He had to predicted a boy would kill Kamsa, but he did not care. He snatched the baby girl from their hands and throw her into a stone to kill the baby. Suddenly the girl was transformed into Goddess Durga and told to Kamsa that Krishna was alive and he would punish him for his bad deeds.

Pradosham Vrat or Pradosham

About Pradosahm Vrat or Pradosham: Pradosham means “Dusk time” or Pra means “remover” Dosha means “inauspicious things or Karma”. Pradosham occurs twice in a month and this occasion on the 13th day of every fortnight in the hindu calendar. This Pradosham is mainly worship of Hindu god the destroyer lord Shiva. The Propitious 3 Hour period, while the devotion starts 1.5 hours before sunset and balance 1.5 hours for after sunset. After sunset is a good time to worship Lord Shiva.
